Aon Re Africa is hiring an Actuarial Analyst for its Reinsurance Analytics department, based on a hybrid work model from their Head Office in Sandton. The role supports the broking function through analytical and statistical insights, client liaising, and the development of tools and models.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with analytics teams, brokers, and clients to understand needs
• Create, test, and run client models for analysis and recommendations
• Stay updated on industry trends and suggest process improvements
• Enhance reporting templates, tools, and processes for pricing and benchmarking
• Support catastrophe management and interpret modeling results
• Develop new analytical tools and enhance existing ones
• Contribute to business development efforts in Aon South Africa

Qualifications

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science and/or Statistics
• First-level regulatory examination for representatives
• Advanced computer literacy, particularly in MS Office (advanced Excel)
• Proficiency in data analytics tools (eg SAS, R, Python) is advantageous
• Experience with ReMetrica or other Dynamic Financial Analysis software is a plus
• VBA coding experience is an advantage
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Interpersonal skills and ability to work in teams
• 2–3 years of experience in a similar environment
• Experience in the short-term or reinsurance industry is beneficial
